Is God Testing Me?

God may permit us to be tested but our tests come from the temptations in the world, the lures of the creatures of the underworld and the weakness of the flesh. "The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." -Matthew 26: 41. Why He permits certain tests or temptations, becomes a matter of faith and trust in Him. We are not all-knowing - He is. We do not love perfectly - He does. We did not spontaneously spawn in this world - He created us purposefully. Perfecting virtues within us will help conquer the weaknesses of the flesh. If we are willing to suffer then the world and evil things pressing on us will not take us off the path God made for us. Uniting our human will to God's will as Jesus did in the Garden during His agony will help us conquer all. "...not my will, but thine, be done." -Luke 22:42

Let us all ask for God's assistance in all things, trusting He will provide for those who seek to love Him.

"Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, 'Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?' He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, 'Quiet! Be still!' Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, 'Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?'" -Mark 4:38-40
